The platform Sophon was developed using ZKsync’s Elastic Chain as a validium. The network architecture of Sophon manages high-throughput applications like gaming and social networking with ease. We allow customers to benefit from on-chain features without having to deal with the usual complications by seamlessly integrating crypto rails into the structure of our platform. Nodes for Sophon
The two node types used by Sophon networks are Full Nodes and Light Nodes. Both are essential to preserving the security and liveness of the network.
Sophon Complete Node
A sophon full node is a complete node that can serve as a validator or sequencer and keeps a complete copy of the chain. To explain, only one node (run by Sophon Labs) is permitted to contribute batches in the network’s early phases.
The tools
As a ZK Chain, Sophon was created to offer a developer experience akin to that of Ethereum.
Vyper or Solidity can be used to write smart contracts.
Zksolc and Zkvyper are custom compilers used to compile smart contracts.
Project migration is smooth because most contracts operate out of the box.
Support for the majority of development tools is made possible by Web3 API compatibility.
The ZK Stack framework serves as the foundational technology for the Validium ZK chain Architecture Sophon.
Validiums are scalability solutions that improve throughput and lower transaction costs by leveraging offchain data availability and processing. Validity proofs on Ethereum, which provide precise state transitions and hence the overall integrity of the Validium chain, are used to uphold their security (i.e., if a ZK proof is validated on L1, you can fully trust the whole chain state).
In addition, Validiums use an offchain data availability method in contrast to zk-rollups, which depend on onchain data availability. By achieving a unique balance between transparency and operational efficiency, Validiums provide novel use cases. Such as the ability to withhold data (enabling increased or complete privacy) while preserving an entirely trustless environment.
